As part of the Integrated Natural Resource Management Project (PIGRN), the NAFORE environmental protection association took part in the official launch of the project, which will be implemented in the wetlands of Maal, Djelewar, and Karakoro.
The project aims to restore degraded wetlands, which are crucial for biodiversity and local populations, and to strengthen national and local governance by integrating gender perspectives. The NAFORE association is responsible for implementing activities in the Djelewar municipality.
The project will operate in the Brakna and Guidimakha provinces for a period of five years (2025–2029).
The event was organized by the National Agency for the Great Green Wall (ANGMV), in collaboration with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
Several administrative and municipal authorities attended this event to learn about the various stages of the project.
