At the launch workshop for the project “Strengthening the Resilience of Ecosystems and Populations in Four Regional Hubs of Northern Mauritania,” the NAFORE Association, an implementing partner of the project, led a technical session on environmental and social safeguards (ESDS) and gender mainstreaming. This presentation was given by Amadou Diam BA, President of the NAFORE Association.
Responsible and Sustainable Implementation:
During his presentation, the President of NAFORE emphasized that the project’s success hinges on implementation that balances ecosystem restoration, community protection, and adherence to environmental and social standards. He outlined the main risks associated with the project’s activities, as well as the prevention and mitigation measures that will be implemented to ensure responsible and sustainable execution.
Naforé’s Role in Supporting Communities:

- Their active participation in decision-making processes;
- Their access to training on climate change adaptation;
- Their access to income-generating activities and other opportunities offered by the project.
Particular attention will also be paid to monitoring results to ensure equitable participation and an inclusive distribution of benefits.
A Reaffirmed Commitment
