At COP14 of the Abidjan Convention in Mauritania, two major events intersected: the Conference on Oceans and Coastal Zones and World Biodiversity Day. It was a strong opportunity to remind us that the fight against climate disruption is inseparable from the preservation of our natural ecosystems.
We had the honor of organizing a side-event in partnership with the PND dedicated to the strategic role of mangroves in the conservation of coastal biodiversity. In the face of erosion, soil salinization, and the disappearance of essential habitats, mangroves provide nature-based solutions that reconcile biodiversity protection, climate adaptation, and the resilience of local communities.
Thank you to all those who participated and enriched the discussions. Preserving biodiversity strengthens our collective future.
