On the occasion of World Clean Air Day for Blue Skies, the Mauritanian Government, through its Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, has invited to celebrate for the first time this day, which coincides with September 7th of each year. The theme chosen for this fifth edition is ‘Investing in Clean Air Now’ to preserve the atmosphere from anthropogenic environmental pollution.
The Naforé Association, represented by Mr. Cheikh Ahmedou Bamba Gueye, Technical Manager, participated in this day during which partner institutions of the MEDD, notably the Nouakchott region and IMROP, presented significant results that today constitute the rare data available on air quality. Other civil society organizations had the opportunity to present their initiatives to combat air pollution. Recommendations such as the characterization of air quality in urban centers and the determination of limit values for emissions of conventional pollutants were proposed by various speakers.
