MCO Project, Funded by the PRCM titled: “Beekeeping and Oysterculture as levers for development”
Project objective:
Training in Beekeeping and Oystering
In April 2025, the NAFORE team organized a series of theoretical and practical training sessions at the Diawling National Park for the beneficiary populations from the localities of Zire, Birette, and Bouhajra. For each village, five (5) people were selected from the active members of the local communities, totaling fifteen (15) direct beneficiaries, including several women, in an inclusive and equitable approach.

Apiary Monitoring
The latest monitoring missions indicate significant progress regarding the installed hives. Natural nectar collection has been confirmed at several sites: at Bouhajra Doueira, seven hives are now occupied, with high bee activity observed in the field. In addition, one more hive has been captured at the Bouhajra Poste site.
These results demonstrate positive developments compared to the previous mission and confirm the colonies’ successful adaptation to their environment. In total, eight hives have begun producing acacia honey, which is an encouraging sign for the site’s beekeeping activity.
