About the Naforé Association

Who are we?

The Naforé Association is a non-political, non-union, and indefinite association, created in accordance with the regulatory provisions of Law 64098 of June 9, 1964, relating to associations, and its amending texts: Law 73007 of January 23, 1973 and Law 73175 of July 2, 1973.
It is approved by receipt No. 287 of June 25, 2009, from the Ministry of the Interior and Decentralization.
The Association is headquartered in the Tevragh Zeina Moughataa in Nouakchott, opposite the Syrian Embassy. It has twenty-five members with different backgrounds and several years of experience, which has provided it with a diverse human resource base capable of responding to requests
in the fields of the environment, health, hygiene, and sanitation.

Our mission is to support the Mauritanian state in this mission through concrete actions to preserve the environment and fight against poverty in an inclusive and participatory approach.

Président

Founder of Naforé, water and forestry engineer with over 40 years of experience in environment and biodiversity.

Salif DEM

Vice President

Co-founder of Naforé, agronomist trained in the United States, specialist in peasant organization and social mobilization.

Malick BA

Secretary General

Founding member of Naforé, he manages the administrative and organizational aspects of the association.

Mame Thiané N’gaidé

Deputy Secretary General

Since 2009, she has been ensuring the administrative and logistical coordination of Naforé with rigor.

Amadou Hamath Diop

Treasurer

Founding member, he is responsible for the management and financial transparency of Naforé.

Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba Gueye

Technical Director

Analyze and identify the technical and logistical needs to carry out Nafore's projects.

Mamadou Bocar BA

Program and Monitoring Officer

Project management and local development specialist, he oversees the planning and monitoring of activities.

Amadou Malick

Head of Logistics Support Service / GIS

With more than 10 years of experience, he manages logistics and GIS to ensure the effectiveness of Naforé's actions.

Mariem Diong

Administrative and Financial Assistant

Holder of two master's degrees, she ensures the administrative and financial management of Naforé with rigor and transparency.

Alassane El Housseinou Dia

Project Manager

As a specialist in environmental biology, he coordinates ecological and climate resilience projects.

Abdoulaye Amadou Mbass

Driver

A member since 2013, he supports the team on the ground and assists in the implementation of projects.
